| Those things has been discussed a lot on the net. I think lot of them knows abt it. Im interested on the new standalone system available in the market. Its pointless to point out which d best as both has its advantages and disadvantages. Its time to share new idea, new experience, tak kan pakai bakkakuk lagi, right? |

| MegaSquirt® EFI Controllers are intended as an educational project for those who want to learn about electronic fuel injection. It is an experimental Do-It-Yourself programmable electronic fuel injection controller that you build yourself. MegaSquirt® will work on virtually any liquid fueled spark-ignition engine, naturally aspirated or boosted (up to 21psi boost with the standard MAP sensor). Note that a MegaSquirt® EFI Controller is the controller only, you will have to gather the remaining fuel system parts yourself (from 1 to 16 injectors, sensors, fuel rails, fuel pump, etc.). Experimental means that YOU are responsible for sorting out some details of your fuel injection that are specific to your application. Do-it-yourself means that you save money by assembling it yourself with a few basic tools and comprehensive instructions. I've got this info from the net, http://www.megamanual.com/ Hehehe... taiko, i think most of us dont understand how to DIY in ECU & Engine tuning |

| up till now I've done 3 megasquirt projects, 2tg 4throttle, 4ag 16v 4throttle and 3sge 4throttle. MS is the best low cost fully tunable aftermarket fuel and ignition ecu there is and it's not that hard to do if you know what you're doing. http://forums.cjb.net/cccm-about560.html |

gonna buy a second hand unit from a friend...any advice?? As i know... Microtech ECU is design for drag race & hi-end street racing purpose, not suitable for daily driving/on the street, eventhough this standalone ECU is cheaper than Haltech and Motec, you will be a very best buddy with the tuners for tuning it maybe on daily basis, because microtech is also famous for it's faulty, by reffering to the old MicroTech LT8... the idling is not steady and slow respond after morning start eventhough you just tune it the night before, or maybe some other fauilty that most microtech user wish not to discuss, & don't you realise, Why your friend wishes to sell his ECU at the first place, do you wish to feel the same problem as he face before he letting it go? ... have u check these second hand unit is from what type of engine its originate from & from whom's car it's actually from? heard that few months back, an unit had been stolen from a car in a workshop here in KK, this is just my oppinion, dont nuke me, hehehe..... cheers~! |

so which do you guys suggest for a daily driven vr4 with moderate mods?? standalone unit or piggyback??? From my Otai's explanation few day's back, if you're using your ride for daily driven, he recommend to use the original ECU with piggy back, this is because the original ECU setting is set for low/standard FC's and less hassle in tuning. The best piggyback on the market nowadays is Greddy E-manage Ultimate, and it's worth it for moderate modification setting. I think you know how to find the info's in the net... cheers.... |

| Got this answer from the other forum, just as an example from the people that have used it,
"the blue only has the ability to increase the injector pulse width; the only way you can decrease the pulse width with the blue is is by lowering the MAP values the ECU sees
the timing retard/advance control isn't the most accurate, and therefore timing might bounce around a lot
the emanage ultimate can control timing better and increase and decrease pulse widths"
this is only some of the info that i manage to retract , You know that the Ultimate is the latest version of Greddy Piggy back.... pls sir... gain some more knowledge from the other forum besides here, do your homework before you put some performance parts into ur ride, there are some cases, the engine wont work as he predicted, eventhou he had mod it kaw2, even an moderate modi car he can't tapau far2 away, this happens recently.... im also surprise with the result.... |
