Pada suatu malam seorang profesor yang pelupa dan nyayuk pulang lambat. Ketika hendak membuka pintu, dia sedar bahawa dia tidak membawa kunci rumah.

Akhirnya dia mengetuk-ngetuk pintu rumahnya hingga isterinya terbangun dan membukakan pintu. Kerana kegelapan, si isteri tidak dapat mengenali si profesor itu adalah suaminya.

Lalu si isteri berkata,

"Maaf Encik, ... Profesor belum balik... dia tidak ada di rumah."

Profesor pelupa itu menjawab,
"oo.. takpe lah, kalau begitu saya akan datang semula esok. Terima kasih puan!"
