dari segi 'pros' dan 'cons' masing2 ada kelebihan dan keburukkan.
tapi yg pastinya, bila on ja engine; timing belt adalah leih senyap dari timing chain.

Timing Tuning

While a timing chain is nothing more than a traditional internal engine component, a modern belt drive is an invaluable tuning tool that no racer or street horsepower fanatic should be without. Whether you are dyno testing or dialing in your car at the track, you need to be able to quickly adjust the camshaft timing. Camshaft timing is one of the most important tuning aids you can have. By advancing or retarding cam timing, you can compensate for track surface conditions, atmospheric conditions and simply fine-tune every ounce of performance out of your existing combination. The effect of changing cam timing is so significant that many high-end performance cars come from the factory with sophisticated and expensive variable cam-timing devices. For sportsman and bracket racers, it's even more important. If your car isn't hooking up, you can jack it up and make a chassis adjustment that may take 15 minutes or more. Or, with a properly designed belt drive, loosen four bolts and retard the cam timing in the staging lanes in about five minutes—a bracket racer's dream.

Dyno Time

Cam timing adjustments can be an important developmental tool on the dyno as well. Not only can you find the "sweet spot" in the power curve, you can move it around to best suit your total engine combination. By experimenting with cam timing and valve lash, a knowledgeable engine builder can determine if he has the best cam for a given application. If not, he may need to run several cams through the engine to find the right one. With a conventional timing-chain setup cam changes are time-consuming, labor-intensive tasks, and with the cost of dyno time these days, you can't afford not to take advantage of all available shortcuts.

banyak model keta yg menggunakan rantai sabagai pergerak nadi. memang diakui ne rantai memang banyak fungsinya. kalau nak tebang pokok, mesti ada CHAINsaw. Begitu juga dengan beskal, nak tarik perangkap ikan laut dalam dan menghambat orang (khas utk mereka yg kaki pukul) dan mcm2 fungsi samada yg baik dan tidak baik.

kui kui....... semua model proton n perodua menggunakan timing belt, model keta lama banyak guna timing chain, satu sebab guna timing belt ni tak bising itu je tpi jangka hayat pendek, paling minima bg yg local ialah 70000km, maksima yg ori 100000km je, jgn lebih kalo lebih maka kuarkanlah duit lebih nak repair enjin sebab kalo timing belt putus korang akan benasib balik kalo tak kena tukar engine valve atau piston, kalo tak baik kira top atau full overhaul la enjin korang. avanza adalah contoh keta baru yg guna timning chain.... kalo dah bunyik kasar tu kira kena tukar la....

moto yg pakai taiming belt suzuki gsx110kan. van toyolta bapak mentua aku pakai taiming chain, sampai skg tak yah tukau, jimat gila dia punya maintenace

Engine Daihatsu L5 atau sirion klu sya tak silap guna timing chain.Timing chain ne jimat maintenance,di bandingkan ngan timing belt.Jangka hayat panjang,tak yah tukar.tunggu ada bunyik baru p check kat workshop (longgar).

Sejak ianya approve untuk dipasarkan.....

Myvi 1.3 memang pakai timing chain.... manakala Savvy pula pakai timing belt..dah lah engine renault timing belt dia mahal nak mampus..RM800 ke atas.

kebanyakan kereta proton dan perodua pakai timing belt sebab nak jimat kos...

penggunaan timing chain memang dari dulu lagi sampai sekarang... tetapi hanya kereta dari barat dan nippon saja. dan sekarang pun kebanyakan kereta baru pakai binatang alah ni... kereta solio aku pun pakai timing chain.. nak tahu adakah kereta tu pakai timing chain sewaktu nak start tu lah... bunyinya krakkrakkrak kuat..Lepas start... senyap balik bunyi engine.. myvi, avanza, kembara pakai injin yg samakan 1.3 (usaha sama toyota,perodua & diathsu), klu avanza pakai timing chain yg lain pun same,dont know

timing belt proton jangan beli yg murah, lebih baik beli mitsubishi original... kotak sana ada tulis 100,000km tapi tak bermakna perlu tukar dalam 100,000km, kena tukar semasa 80,000 atau 90,000km... kerana engine idle boleh mengurangkan juga hayat timing belt.

kalau saya tak silap, yrv pun pakai chain

kalau timing belt dia ndak buli kna minyak kan?? kalau kna cpat putus tu brg..silap skit putus trus :silent:

kalau timing chain pula ndak buli kalau teda minyak kalau tidak sama jg cpat putus putus Sleep
