What is SQ?

There's a misunderstanding that SQ(Sound Quality) is a system that can't play loud. Stock system also can't play loud but that's far from a real SQ system. So what is Sound Quality? SQ is that aspect of a sound system, which encompasses all of the performance factors which give the system the ability to re-produce an accurate and life-like rendition of the original recording as perfectly as possible. It includes factors such as tonality, ambience, subtle nuance, system gain structure, dynamics,transient response, and the list goes on and on.
SQ is a combination of all these technical factors as well as proper
speaker placement and proper system design. When a system is said to have perfect SQ, it generates the most accurate sound possible, with a sense of musical realism that gives the listener the impression that they "hear" a live performance right in front of them, as if the listener was in the audience watching the actual performers on an actual stage. Now, to get this realistic musical "sound stage" in a car, it takes careful system planning, speaker placement, and tuning.

yg sistem aku di accord tu, will stay the same. tu future hi end system mo install di kereta lain, pioneer P9 + proc.(modded), speaker: scanspeak 7100, alpine F#1 Z12M, scanspeak 18W revelator, amp: DLS TA2 x2(for tweet and midrange), Poweramper iPA 800.2(soundstream VGA 800.2) for midbass, Eton PA2802(298w x2 @ 4ohm) for sub. sub still undecided, searching lagi. cables, Van Den Hul The Bridge Hybrid for tweet and midrange, yg lain belum beli. dan capacitor stinger.

pasal ko punya system, aku rasa mo buat installation betul2 dulu dan tukar monoblock. next step tukar amp for front and sub. then lastly cable.

sya pnya system bukn mo tukar monoblock sja.kena tukar sub 1 kali.ni sub klo main rndah macam teda suda.myb juga psal 2 box ported punya.ni sub baru 180watt rms.lain la klo 2 sub dlm cabin buknya d boot..hehe sa prasan ni sub kuat klo 100hz keatas.bawah 2 suda teda.ada juga tpi tdk kuat suda.

u slowly take step by step la. u are getting the hang of it d. sub tak sepatutnya main 100Hz ke atas, sebab more than 50Hz sound becomes directional, boleh rasa datang dari belakang.

tapi mo belajar pasal tuning, tiada site la, semua pun thru discussion in forum saja. nanti aku balik, i teach u everything i know bout it la altho i still newbie but cukup makan la. hehe. ur steps are quite correct juz dat the first 2 step interchange. know where is the max gain on ur amp first, then set to the optimum listening volume, then adjust gain balance from there on.

let say I know the max gain on my amp.how do i know the optimum listening vol? gain balance u mean balance the sub,mid and tweet so it sound balance together?

HU punya crossover ada 'level' selection 0-12db...ni apa guna ni?some kind of gain cut?did u use it?

yea, in that crossover section is gain cut. max volume, lets say ur HU max is 30, u put 28 and set the amp gain till no distortion audible. then set it to ur daily listening volume, let's say 15, then balance out the tweet and the mid by playing with the gain, onli adjust the gain lower than the max. dun tune all at the same time, do it one by one, mute the rest while starting with mid.

bah, final, sudah hampir dapat bunyi ko tu? hehe. tapi mmg aku sudah warn ko midbass akan kurang kalau dapat 15W. mesti ada enclosure and angle baru la ada sikit. kalau tidak 15W lebih kurang macam midrange yg main rendah. 18W bass mmg kaw, lebih lagi kalau mod dia. 18W lebih sesuai main 3 way la. my F#1 mid tak boleh turun banyak, hanya sampai 80Hz, tapi midrange mmg sedap, macam ko dengar hari tu pun sweet sudah.

tdi ptg sya try yg ko bgitau ari 2 psal gain.but the balancing part sya try buat d crossover.kasi turun tu level smpai ngam...tatau apa keburukan atau kekurangan dri segi quality level.macam lebih senang juga la buat macam ni.kalau balancing direct adjust dari gain susa sikit sbab 2 amp d blakang.

hehe, not bad ba u. at least u understand all the fundamentals. murid yg pintar, haha. banyak minum dumex ka? using HU to lower the gain oso can as long u dun hear any audible distortion or change in SQ. we usually try to minimize the use of processor in order to keep the originality of the music. unless it's unevitavble then terpaksa la. for fine tuning better use HU for convenience, i tried tuning the amp sampai berpeluh peluh pun susah mau dapat. hampir sana, then use TA 1 side. pasal pintu mmg mesti buat sudah tu, tak boleh lari punya. but since u said mo tahan 8 tahun then boleh invest la ni. tapi kerja ni mo lama oh, tak boleh siap di weekend, mungkin 1 week or so depends on kedai. mo buat enclosure mesti cari sifu yg pandai buat.
