What is SQ?
There's
a misunderstanding that SQ(Sound Quality) is a system that can't play
loud. Stock system also can't play loud but that's far from a real SQ
system. So what is Sound Quality? SQ is that aspect of a sound system,
which
encompasses all of the performance factors which give the system the
ability to re-produce an accurate and life-like rendition of the
original recording as perfectly as possible. It includes factors such
as tonality, ambience, subtle nuance, system gain structure, dynamics,
transient response, and the list goes on and on. SQ is a combination of
all these technical factors as well as proper speaker placement and
proper system design. When a system is said to have perfect SQ, it
generates the most accurate sound possible, with a sense of musical
realism that gives the listener the impression that they "hear" a
live performance right in front of them, as if the listener was in the
audience watching the actual performers on an actual stage. Now, to get
this realistic musical "sound stage" in a car, it takes careful
system planning, speaker placement, and tuning.

final, ur system juz need some fine tuning and syok suda la tu. now at least u have a real decent system, all up to standard.

my syst? sy pn xtau suda pa crita.. amp pn xtau suda d mana dia berada.. lambat betul sampai.. tolong la pos malaysia.. kerja la cepat sikit..

final - skarang ko paham suda pa mksd sy suara hujung2kan.. high freq ba maksud sy dulu 2.. tapi d anggap mengolok pula.. aiyo...

bukn juga bilang high freq dia tinggi ba 2 boi.klau tinggi mna kita bleh dngar suda. tpi sa rsa macam lebih kpada details untuk high freq.macam start around 5k-20K.tu la ko rsa macam ada hujung tpi sa rsa detail.itu detail kasi itu bunyi lengkap ni tweeter sya ni macam kabur2...haha itu rsa macam tdk smpai.macam dngar mp3 128kbps punya high freq.macam 2 la sa rsa.mungkin ngam untuk org yg suka music relax...hehe tpi klau sa macam tdk syok pula...myb macam CK ckp try fine tune lgi la...tatau pa macam tune susa juga kn...hehe

oo.. macam 2 ka ayat yang b2l.. tq tq.. tau2 la kalau noob ni.. sembarangan jak becakap.. tune c power kira kategori sharp ka? jd dia punya set lagi relax? sy rasa ck punya lg relax.. warm.. b2l ka sy cakap ni? hehee.. bunyi instrument dia sedap.. tp ck senri pena cakap dia mmg tune bagi kurang 2 'details 2k high freq'.. sy ingat lagi gaya dia tem cakap d kreta 2.. hehe..

itu si rudy punya panggil bunyi yg dynamic ba boi. tapi tidak sangat dynamic la berbanding speaker yg betul dynamic... semua ni personal preference la, kita dengar dan ambik experience aja.

tdk juga sharp sa rsa.myb untuk certain freq sja yg kena sharp itu la rsa ada completeness.sbab klau sharp btul sakit telinga owh...

pa yg perlu d tune kalau mau kasi dtail?kasi kurang detail 2K?pa macam kasi bikin macam 2?hehe sya pn noob ba...hehe sya rsa ini tweeter macam tdk detail lngsung.macam kabur sja.klau kasi kuat itu tweet sakit pula.huhu

sya pun noob ba boi.main sembarang ckp sja...hehe CK baru sifu. kasi kita perkataan 'dynamic' lgi...hehe

aku pun belajar dari sifu lain la, haha. sound divided to 3 categories ba, warm, neutral and dynamic. DLS nobelium kira neutral suda tu. kalau mo tune, ko main position tweeter dulu macam yg robert kata. dapat sweet spot baru tune EQ.

position mksud ko angle itu tweeter? so memang itu EQ la yg mau kacau? 2moro sya kcau lagi la lpas kasi kemas brg2 d boot...huhu tadi balik dari KK myb bumpy2 skrg ada bunyi kapal suda.mesti itu RCA la ni tdk kuat.

baru sampai twu...penat gila..

haha mana ada mau tukar amp...blum sampai masanya lg..tu saja ja tanya2 pasal helix tu..tp rsanya tdk akan angkat helix la.

hehe smua komen aku punya sound ni...td dlm perjalanan tune balik sambil drive..c robert ckp tidak full, so dia tune kc full bunyi, tp focus vocal ja..tdk mau komen la hehe, dia kan sifu....nah ni kali la bunyi full+bunyi hujung2+dynamic hehe (talk kok only hehe).

tp aku hairan la ramai org yg main sq samaada yg di twu atau yg di kk n lain2 tempat..kebanyakan tune tuk vocal saja ni....seriously what is ur definition of sq? faithful reproduction of music? ka reproduction of vocal n let the music sounds like s**t?..hehe...

tp ni seriusla n honest dari aku, tp ni bukan bertujuan mau judge or giving such "pro" opinion, tp cuma pandangan rakan seperjuangan ICE yg membina n tuk sama2 improve n ni cuma aku punya personal preferrence of the sound

ck- i like ur sound, quite balanced n smooth vocals n treble, the vocals fits nicely into the music n the stage..The musics quite good, it has a sense of accuracy in the instruments (not 100% , but its acceptable n desirable)..not like those fat snare drums or a blurred symbals..T.A is good, sharp center image with good distance in the stage..the downside is your subwoofer, strong sounding, it can be heard from the driver's seat not from the windscreen..


final - got a bit improvement..due to ur new good amp, good sound damping n VDH cables..to my ears on that night (i just listen the characteristic of the basic sound only not to robert's tuning, so i cannot give more comments, maybe will do a 2nd review after u've completed ur installations n ur own tuning).. the sound got 5% more openess 5% more naturalness, bass is a bit better (natural bass) from the previous sub(W3 arr)..but the characteristics of the previous sub is still there (fat n boom2 hehe)..the tweeter still sounded like stuffed with something but better than before, the guitar's midrange sound is not in the mix btween the tweeter n midbass that night (i know its not ur tuning)..quite good TA, but still can hear the 10% shadows near to the right side..

AKu punya sendiri - not my best, final n windu saja yg dgr aku punya tuning..to me it sounded thin..still missing my big n centralized vocal..missing the bass from my midbass, n oso subwoofer box error as explained by robert.., the "bunyi hujung2" sounded weird, not as natural ..hehe that shitty tuning is the last minute retuning b4 the tt n under a stressed condition haha, alasan tu bah..but final may agree with this..the openess is quite ok n the stage is wide when u play a sample song from jan akkerman..u can hear balanced n clear sound from the left till the right side of the stage with no "tersumbat" sound either in the left or right..

tu ja, derek aku tdk biasa lg n baru kenal, will not comment his sys la hehe, sifu..

"subwoofer box error as explained by robert" - share la.. size? type of box? aku pn minat ported sebab can go low n need less power. tp 2 la less accurate.. tp xpa.. aku xda golden ears lg.. snri xkan prasan pnya..

"subwoofer box error as explained by robert" yg ini bukn psal size box dngn target freq yg kita mau main ka? let say kita buat 1 box, klau tdk ngm sukatan n tuning, klau kita kasi salur contoh 50hz, yg terhasil tdk 100% 50hz.btul ka?

box sya pn suda tdk ngam ni.hehe sa ni pn main antam ckp sja ni actly...teda dngar dari c robert pun...haha

angle and maybe height. tweeter shud be at ear lvl. bunyi kapal terbang ni mmg headache la. EQ and gain balance is the next step if ur crossover is tuned nicely.

boi n final...mlm tu aku tune aku punya midbass 50hz (bassy) n subwoofer pun 50 hz (less bassy bcoz its too low for my sub n the box, kalau 100hz pulak boom2 pow trus)..jd ni setting mix tuk keadan masa tu, robert tune aku punya midbass jd 80hz-100hz..macam teda apa2 bass, dia target mau kc keluar midrange dari midbass n cover it with the subwoofer for the bass section at 80-100hz oso..the prob is when u tune my sub at 80hz-100, it will bcome too boom without the deep bass (paham ka ni xplanation hehe), kuat saja tp teda isi, pernah sumbat tu ported box baru bunyinya bmmmmmm, bukan bufffff buffff..

ya final betul, dgn sukatan yg betul kalau tune 50hz memang dpt 50hz la..DLS suruh buat tuk aku punya woofer 0.99cft sealed box tp aku pakai kotak mohawk ported n ndatau brapa sukatannya hehehe..tp senang sampai ke depan bunyinya..tp tidak bleh tune ikut peraturan la, mau pakai kreativiti sndiri hehehe..robert recommend pakai 1.2cuft..

boi mau tengok sub juga tu, kalau dia ckp bleh ported or sealed ok la tu pakai ported box, paling senang ikut ja ukuran yg direkoman dari companynya..


hehe ck teda respon ni aku komen dipunya system..tu bukan puji sembarang aa, aku jarang puji org kecuali yg betul saja..

at least i learn smthing oso from the tt..hehe, aku ni jenis main antam ja asal boleh haha..good for all

rudy, hahaha, jgn panas ba. thanks for ur compliment. aku rasa belum kasi full potential lagi, si robert cakap installation aku bermasalah. midbass terlalu banyak cancellation.

ya bah ah leap, kami tunggu2 ko juga tu malam..ya btl very subjective.., tula pasal sbb ada cd test tuk ambil point ja, suara tengah, test midbass, test sub bunyi depan, test t.a, test staging etc.. kalau test tonality memang susah, ada org mau vocal besar,, ada yg bilang kabur tu warm, ada yg clean n clear tu tajam..btl kan? hehe..tula ck ckp aku dgr dia punya kreta masa 1st time dulu skejap betul hehe, sbb ambil point ja bah tu..(ambil point ni pun aku blajar dari sifu ah seng n ckgu lo hehe)..

huhu, skrg aku nda tulis udah setting2 ni, sbb pasti akan tukar2 kalau nda puas hehe, kalau hilang, memang hilang trus..

rudy ko ingat ka woofer mohawk sya? ko punya amp untuk sub ada adjust untuk q factor n etc²? klau ada ko kasi naik 40hz, slope jgn lebar sngat spaya sama rata dngn freq atas 80 - 100hz.

sya pnya box patut recomend 1.125 cuft tpi sya bikin 1.18 cuft suda...silap ckp itu mlm...hehe 1.8 cuft memang suda besar btul la 2...haha

dunno if u agree or not. i sometime feel dat certain systems, the longer u listen to it, the more u fell in love with it.

true true.....but if one cant get the right sound n the tuning is always sucks, the more that person want to play spl, no need to tune like crazy, just boost the bass like crazy hehe, if he/she got a lot of money, he will definitely play passive sq n comments on active sys... not enough here n there hahaha..bleh pkai ka pandangan ni..

not really la. if u r after tonality, then passive is the way to go, if u r learning or prefer good soundstage, then active.
