What is SQ?

There's a misunderstanding that SQ(Sound Quality) is a system that can't play loud. Stock system also can't play loud but that's far from a real SQ system. So what is Sound Quality? SQ is that aspect of a sound system, which encompasses all of the performance factors which give the system the ability to re-produce an accurate and life-like rendition of the original recording as perfectly as possible. It includes factors such as tonality, ambience, subtle nuance, system gain structure, dynamics,transient response, and the list goes on and on.
SQ is a combination of all these technical factors as well as proper
speaker placement and proper system design. When a system is said to have perfect SQ, it generates the most accurate sound possible, with a sense of musical realism that gives the listener the impression that they "hear" a live performance right in front of them, as if the listener was in the audience watching the actual performers on an actual stage. Now, to get this realistic musical "sound stage" in a car, it takes careful system planning, speaker placement, and tuning.

nice TT last nite and it's really great to meet up sifu2 sekalian..although only a few of us last nite, the time taken to listen different setups can really go on for long hours and i enjoyed it..

sometimes i find it hard for me to describe/comment on the sound, unless i have really concentrate on listening it over and over again to get myself familiarized on what is lacking or the problematic areas..hehe..so most of the time i'll just sit and enjoy the music, rather myself being too analytical which leads to more headache

boi: previously my setup suffered a peak @ 5khz using the Type-R set, i might still be suffering that on my current set..anyhow, i'll try to run Imprint to see the frequency response result to reconfirm if i still have the same peak..last nite my HU setting is on Manual mode, maybe next TT can let u all listen the Imprint profile versus my Manual mode settings, i think the sound will be different..the Imprint did some wonders to the Type-R set last time, so hopefully this time will be the same too..

power: aiseh, mau tengok itu angle ba.huhu si boi ckp the right side is a boit off axis. tpi yg left side on axis. btul ba kn boi? sya experiment dlu la cari angle.mau cari reference point dulu.

nizam: skrg ni nda payah roadblock.d jln pn rmai btul trafic.tadi dari menggatal ke putatan dua traffic lalu sya pas tu ngam2 kreta sblah sya tu tengah siok2 ckp fon.hehe habis... depan sutera tu pn slalu roadblock smpai jam yg melampau...tpi kmarin teda pula. ada block d tanjung aru la.

setup sya tlmpau bnyak problem dari segi installation.nanti sya kasi bagus2 dulu baru kasi dngar kamu la.ikut betul mau siap suda ba.tpi sya terpijak, trus pecah satu...huhu tlmpau transparent nda nmpak

taaron : that's not newbie for sure n definitely not a newbie setup...i used to use 9887 as well but never had the chance to utilize the imprint function though..then i replaced it with p80 n now p9...hope to c u in the next tt, hopefully next week?....did u use the old type r or newer type r? the older one seems better in term of built quality by looking at the unit it self..

ok, in simple language, did u mean "ear pearcing" sound at 5khz? no comment for now coz u might be " the sifu" hehe, im just "a year corn" (setahun jagung) in ice...

final - oh angle ka...mmm napa nda kasi lurus ja 70 - 70 deg, yg penting yg kanan (driver position) anglenya tdk tersasar keluar dari telinga, org belakang pun bleh enjoy..kalau off sampai 50% nda sedap udah tu...apa2 pun wat la macam c tj, pakai blue tac, test hari2..

klau btul2 menghadap kedepan 90deg? klau ikut konsep itu, memang skrg tu gtu suda tu.tpi yg kiri tu tlmpau off axis dngn driver.

next week no prob for me except Sunday (20th)..

the type-r that i have is SPR-17S model, which that particular model is being replaced by the current model in market SPR-60C, mine can be said belongs to the new gen..i believe the old type that u are referring is the midbass with silver color cone, no phase plug or dust cap..anyway, my type-r is not being utilized at the moment, currently i'm using back the old SPX-F17T with midrange disconnected but midbass still on duty paired up with the RR tweets (replacing my blown tweets SS variant D2904/6000 from the F17T)..

about the 5khz thingy, i happened to know it by looking at the FR graph plotted by the Imprint software, but that was during my time using the type-r..as for now, i'm quite interested to re-run Imprint to see the changes..dun la call me sifu, i got many things more to learn..thought of the ear-piercing, sibilance perhaps?

haha...boi, tu projek k-car tu passive..ada suda ku bli speaker di mudah kemarin...ko tau tadi baru aku discover tu clarion HU oem tuk saga ada TA haha, tkejut aku, aku heran napa soundnya di atas n tengah2 ni (bapaku pasang di kancil), rupanya ada TA (yg simple ja la tp tetap best) mau suda aku pasang pg kelisa td nasib nda bleh read mp3...soundwise much2 better than alpine cde ub100, nice treble.
