What is SQ?

There's a misunderstanding that SQ(Sound Quality) is a system that can't play loud. Stock system also can't play loud but that's far from a real SQ system. So what is Sound Quality? SQ is that aspect of a sound system, which encompasses all of the performance factors which give the system the ability to re-produce an accurate and life-like rendition of the original recording as perfectly as possible. It includes factors such as tonality, ambience, subtle nuance, system gain structure, dynamics,transient response, and the list goes on and on.
SQ is a combination of all these technical factors as well as proper
speaker placement and proper system design. When a system is said to have perfect SQ, it generates the most accurate sound possible, with a sense of musical realism that gives the listener the impression that they "hear" a live performance right in front of them, as if the listener was in the audience watching the actual performers on an actual stage. Now, to get this realistic musical "sound stage" in a car, it takes careful system planning, speaker placement, and tuning.

Kalau high level punya speaker cable terus pg tweeter ada juga meh tu mo control dia punya xover guna tu 9887? HU punya power paling2 pun 20 W ja......jgn kasih blast sajalah....

i thought of the same thing with u too andreww..personally did not ever used the HU internal amplication, but i remembered i read somewhere b4 saying that the xover can only control the low level output, cant find back that reading anymore...

jd pa maksud dia hahaha..x bleh direcct tweeter?=.=

hehe..not really sure, but u can test ur mid direct to player first for testing purpose, try2 tukar slope, khz and level..if got difference, then the xover is working for HU direct speaker connection..at least ur mid x takut bakar ka tau hangus if compared to testing tweeter first..haha

Banyak bah amp murah sekarang yg oldddddddddddd schooooooooooollllllllll punya....pg tgk sana zth ada tu sony es baru rm300....atau kol 2 c PemalasGila tu...banyak dia jual alpine V12 lama2 punya baru RM200 pun ada....angkat ja bah trus pg drive to tweeter ko geeko...tia payah susah2...meragukan juga tu kalau mo guna high level output...sa pasti tada tu mo control over dia...hehehe....

kalau 9887 nda pasti la, kalau p80 ya, ada amp atau teda sama juga proses dari xover...should be ok la sbb bleh masuk menu xover kan, ndakan ada menu tp tdk functioning pula...anyway test2 dulu hehe wow, high end owh c geeko...aku pakai ameron ja tp modded lvl 3 kahkah..kalah sound c andrew tu

hehe ya aku pun mau diy bookshelf pkai 15w n ring radiator, tp not too soon la, lama lagi

ni aku punya amp gut, compare with the images online n u'll notice the upgrade/mod done in this amp.

just now did some slight tuning, i reversed the right hand side tweeter polarity..felt something different,i kinda like it..lol..btw, any1 here reversed the right side tweeter polarity and seen better result with it?

I think andrew did talk bout this b4...fogot dy...hehe later I test la...hehe how does it sounds? wider n further?I mean the right channel n if both left right playing.

wider n further, felt no obvious change..felt certain peak in music is reduced (esp. right side), which actually indirectly improved imaging as the center stage doesn't sway much into my right side tweets...as u noticed, my right side tweets face directly to driver position and the nearest summore, the slight mechanical delay from reversed polarity could help somehow in my situation..

the above statement is based on left n right channel playing together..if i disable left channel n only listen to right channel, mmg x syok dy, the vocal can feel down there cos the right side mid too extreme off-axis until cant blend properly..if listen left n right ch 2gether, dun have this prob la..hehe..dunno la, maybe need to do independent L/R xover dy, will do later..

rudy: u can browse my album here.. might mislead u abit esp the dashboard pic, coz my current RR tweets are not installed yet when the pics were taken last time..the rest r still the same..can help u to visualize on the tweets positioning, both tweets placed on the far left and far right dashboard corners, sitting on the stock dashboard speaker grilles with blutack..both tweets facing driver's head, considered on-axis, if not just slight off-axis by few degree only..

indepndent L/R xover?hehe come across my mind oso but never try it.might try it later.but prob is, the listening position is reli for driver ony la.

btw, I dont think theres any delay from reverse polarity.I realize if reverse on both tweeter, it sounds shallow.but different car has different efek...hehe y dont u try changing the tweeter position?aim higher on the right side, left side a little lower than the right side (both on axis).

final: hehe..mmg gitu la main ice, most of d time tuned for driver only and passenger seat will sound s*c*..

tweeter positioning, worth to try oso in 1 day..last time did tried changing position, only moving left n right angle, top and bottom angle nvr tried b4..abit off-axis, i cannot accept dy, sound totally not the same..stubborn oso this RR tweets..

hehe...of course la...got nipple mah...haha change to dome tweeter la.haha

no la, the passenger side must oso sounds great like they're listening to the normal passive sys & most of the sound still on the dash and only a bit sub sound from the back is allowable..it would be better if there is no sub sound coming from the back at the passenger side...not onli that, passenger at the back oso should hear an opened sound n perfectly balanced tweet,midrange & midbass...that indicates the mix (tuning)of the x over is matched perfectly...thats what i understand from my sifu xplanation n xperienced it myself in his & his customer cars. hope that helps

siapa ada aircirc? i am very interested to hear the sound...

the thing about my car, 95% of all time satu org only which is the driver, if got many penumpang wan to folo my car, will use other car instead of mine...haha...my myvi got "NA lag" and x syok driving with penumpang lain, harsh ride summore, drive myself alone better..so, shud can consider doing selfish tuning to yield best result on my car..lols

turbo car no such problem, 4 person naik bukit like flat road onli.
