What is SQ?

There's a misunderstanding that SQ(Sound Quality) is a system that can't play loud. Stock system also can't play loud but that's far from a real SQ system. So what is Sound Quality? SQ is that aspect of a sound system, which encompasses all of the performance factors which give the system the ability to re-produce an accurate and life-like rendition of the original recording as perfectly as possible. It includes factors such as tonality, ambience, subtle nuance, system gain structure, dynamics,transient response, and the list goes on and on.
SQ is a combination of all these technical factors as well as proper
speaker placement and proper system design. When a system is said to have perfect SQ, it generates the most accurate sound possible, with a sense of musical realism that gives the listener the impression that they "hear" a live performance right in front of them, as if the listener was in the audience watching the actual performers on an actual stage. Now, to get this realistic musical "sound stage" in a car, it takes careful system planning, speaker placement, and tuning.

btw, i always have this dilemma in my mind regarding my unused 5.25" F17T midrange drivers..i want to make good use of it, but could expect installation difficulties due to its size...currently they are on my kick panels, but they don't sound good...

i have this idea,
1) transfer my tweets to the sail panels (hoping for wider stage) and pasang the midrange on my A-pillars
OR
2) tweets either on A-pillar/sail panels and pasang the midrange on the front doors, something identical as the pic below..it will be above the midbass drivers..

dunno if option 1 can be done, imagine the big size mid on the A-pillar..lol..i reckon the soundstage will be improved significantly..

oh...it can be done, but i have another idea, but b4 that what car r u using right now?..just put ur tweeter at the pillar n u need to scallop it a bit for just enough width (in line with ur midbass below)..now, the interesting part, your midrange is on the dashboard...u can create small fibered enclosure too inside the dashboard..then make covers/grill for the midrange to cover it up as oem as it could be.

why tweeter at the pillar? well in my suggestion, the midrange will be just below ur tweeter..there will be more linearity for staging between both speakers rather than putting the tweeter on the sail..further more facing up on the winshield midrange will create the depth illusion better...

create enclosure inside dashboard? i thought most common custom mid job done on the pillars? hmm..

u mean the mid facing up to the windshield, such as the pic below?

think outside the box, myvi is even easier, ur previous fullrange speaker housing is in the dash right, then modified the housing to accept 5 inch midrange inside...u need to google a lot, look for dls competitors's setup in the net, i know not many ppl will take a look on DLS setup coz they think their setup is much better? hehe, we learn from them (pro / champion)..n some may just forgotten etc hehe...try per soder website first..download those pdf...then u'll see what i mean enclosure in the dash (he installed 6.5' midbass in the dash)

yes facing upward, but not like the above picture, its too ugly n protruding..

hehe..u're referring to the ID horn loaded tweets? i would love to listen, however i guess too rare for such setup in our region..if org putih country can easily find la..

i got what you meant dy...inside the dashboard..haha..yea, i have thought of cuztomizing fiber enclosure inside the dashboard speaker compartment for the 5.25inch mid, but i think installers in KK area will not entertain my request or maybe even hesitate and try to suggest me placing it in other place..

woo...got pro sifu installer..i like it..but semporna is far..see la how..guess i roughly know wat to do dy..i really interested to meet ur sifu installer in future, ttyl in detailed when we meet up..thx bro for d advice

yup very rare hehe, the biggest midrange installed i've seen so far in the dash by him is the iridium 3'. in ninja king...many of his rich customers came from kk n sndakan..as well as tawau..
..he asked me to cut my vios dashboard to install midrange or midbass.. and build a custom 10' subwoofer enclosure inside the glove box, .but i think im not ready la...hehe
hehe no sweat bro..i audited many installed system oredi, not to praise him so much but he deserve it,in sabah, only in semporna ur dream sq setup can become reality..he told me b4, "what u want, i'll do it"....its either u bring ur own stuff of order from him, almost anything...but installation itself dosent really do justice...the tuning is PRO..EMMA oriented...my tuning is just a fragment from what he taught me for long... and still sucks...ask boi, he knows..hehe

btw, I'll try to remove the faceplate first n listen if it change anything. bcos, I did some googling n found out that there are people remove the face plate for installation purposes.but they leave it wif no faceplate la and it looks ugly...haha but I goole again la...see how true it is.I think it is just a mere plate for mounting purposes.

wayar speaker ada efek tp sgt sikit..tdk perlu yg mahal btl, buang duit saja, kalau taukeh gatah ok ja tu hehe...antara smua sini aku punya wayar paling lauya...believe it or not.. , ((tp jangan la ikut aku hehe)spend duit pg speaker yg bagus barula banyak efek, 2nd HU yg bgus tuk detail tuning...3rd good installation ..4th. upgrade better amp for neutrality n tahan pukul (rugi juga ku tukar jbl amp ku dulu, almost no difference haha, seriously) 5th.. upgrade cable..

cable rm1000---->speaker rm10,000--->HU rm12,000---> amp rm 10,000 + S***ty tuning = worse than well implemented rm2000 passive system..
